In a nutshell
Google Login lets your members sign in to your membership area using their Google account — no separate password needed.
What is Google Login?
Google Login is a login provider. Members who already have a Google account can use it to sign in directly. Instead of remembering a separate password, they simply use their existing Google credentials.
⚠️ Important: Google Login is not SSO or SCIM
Google Login only simplifies the sign-in process. It does not automatically create or sync accounts.
Please note: Google Login is strictly a login provider. It does not replace SSO or SCIM. Accounts must still be created manually or through third-party tools.
Feature | Google Login | SSO / SCIM |
Sign in with existing account | ✅ | ✅ |
Automatic account creation | ❌ Not included | ✅ |
User sync | ❌ Not included | ✅ |
Automatic deactivation | ❌ Not included | ✅ |
This means:
Accounts must still be created manually — either directly in Memberspot, via the API, or through tools like Zapier, Make, etc.
Google Login allows an already existing member to sign in with their Google account. It does not create new accounts through the login process.
For automatic user management (creating, deactivating, syncing users), Memberspot offers an SSO/SCIM integration via Microsoft Azure. This is available through the Enterprise plan or the SSO addon. → Learn more about SSO via Microsoft Azure
