With this feature, you can customize the side menu and choose what content to display there. You can add spaces, custom pages, portals, and links directly to the side menu to optimize navigation on your site.

If you have activated the side menu, you can also assign portals by access.

To be able to use the side menu feature, you must first activate the switch under Menu. Then confirm in the dialog box that already created Spaces and Space groups will be copied to the side menu.

As soon as you have done this, the header navigation disappears in the live version and the side menu is displayed instead.

With the side menu enabled, you can now create Spaces and Groups directly in the side menu.

Once the side menu is activated, you can easily add new menu items. To do so, click on the "+ menu item" and select the desired item from the dropdown menu. Here is an overview of the menu items:

As the name suggests, you can link already created spaces, portals and pages here.

With groups, you can structure several items and thus create a better overview. Groups are minimized / collapsed by default. If you check the box "expand by default", the sub items will always be displayed.

As in the "Spaces" tab, you can also create a space directly here.

As in the "Portals" tab, you can also create a portal directly here. After you have created a portal, you can start the design by clicking on the name of the portal.

As in the "Pages" tab, you can directly create a page here. After you have created a page, you can start the design by clicking on the name of the page.

You can add links to external pages here

You can move menu items within groups or from group to group. To have a menu item outside a group, you have to edit it with the pencil next to the name and select "-" as the group.
